Spiritual Collapse
Captured in the vulgarity,
Of an eternal moment,
My breath suspended,
Just below the surface.
Every reflection, plays back,
My spiritual collapse.
An avalanche,
Of emotional casualties,
Launched.
The initial shock,
Of seeing you die – that day,
Never-ending,
In my mind’s eye.
Endless hours,
At candle lit vigils,
Left me, emotionally spent,
A walking corpse.
